Step 3 to Balance: Create Time

Why? Times often something we walk around saying we don't have. How many times have you said "I don't have time?" This is the biggest, easiest and most dangerous excuse we can use to self sabotage what we actually want in our lives. Benefits: Once you can take ownership of how you spend your time. You can start to focus your energy on: 1. What really needs to be done 2. What you want to do You'll spend less time rushing around doing things that are nothing more than a distraction! Tools: Values Discovery, Coaching, Journalling How to create more time? When you create time for balance, you recognise that your time is one of your most valuable assets and you can use it wisely. As a CEO, founder or leader here’s 4 steps you can use to take back your power (time): 1. Reduce 9/10 times there's opportunity to reduce what is in your calendar. Being too busy is a dangerous position to be in as a leader, because it means you can easily miss things, and priorities can easily slip! Reduce the slots in your calendar by: - Creating at least 1 full day in your diary where nobody can book a meeting with you - Find your core values, then don't do things that do not align with your values Remember, if your full attention isn't with what you're doing / who you're meeting at any moment, there's a serious lack in quality. When you can reduce, you give yourself an insane ability to focus. 2. Delegate Most leaders make the mistake of trying to do it all alone. You're amazing at what you do, yes. But you can't do it all. You know your quality will slip. There's simple ways you can delegate without huge overheads: - Hire a VA to work part time - Speak openly with members of your team who are slipping, ask them to step up - Get additional support from a coach, to help you prioritise what you really want to focus on 3. Automate With AI growing quicker than we can blink, it's an incredible opportunity to automate more than ever! Are you still sending reminder emails? Do you spend a lot of time following up with prospective or current clients? Automate as much of this process as you can! Tech is better than it has ever been. Use it to your advantage! 4. Meditate Meditation can actually GIVE you time. Yes, that's right. Why's that? Because when you can get into a place of deep stillness you cultivate awareness. This shows you very clearly what you need to cut out of your life, and what you need to focus on. It's also amazing for decision making. Meditation allows you to get clear on the right decision to make quickly so that you're not wasting any time.
